Introduction
Dutoit Agri (Eastern Cape division) is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee fruit production (apples and pears) on a farm in the Waboomskraal area near George. The role focuses on operational efficiency, team management, and overall financial performance of the farm.
Job description
- Manage all farming activities on a 120-hectare fruit farm (110 ha apples, 10 ha pears)
- Ensure efficient day-to-day operations and overall farm productivity
- Take accountability for the farm’s financial performance and profitability
- Supervise and manage staff, ensuring high productivity and motivation
- Report directly to the Head: Eastern Cape Division
- Implement best practices in pome fruit cultivation
Minimum requirements
- At least 7 years’ experience in pome fruit farming (essential)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in agriculture (advantageous, not mandatory)
- Strong technical, managerial, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
