Dutoit Agri invites a suitable qualified, and highly organised Administrative Clerk to play a key role in the administrative functions of our farming business. This role requires a candidate who can work accurately under pressure, manage large staff numbers, and operate effectively in a farming environment.
Job description

Payroll & Human Resources (HR)
  • Manage time and attendance systems 
  • Prepare bi‑weekly payroll runs 
  • Draft, manage, and administer employment contracts (300 employees) 
  • Handle injuries on duty (COIDA) administration 
  • Administer provident fund and funeral fund contributions 
  • Maintain and update training records 
  • Handle resignations and related administration 
  • Manage Employment Equity (EE) administration and records 
  • Provide HR support and assistance to employees
Finance & Records
  • Place purchase orders and allocate invoices
  • Administer the workshop job card book
  • Perform petty cash and diesel reconciliations
  • Manage ordering and stock control of crop protection and fertilisers
  • Monitor and manage the office budget
  • Manage the guesthouse budget
  • Assist management with budgeting by providing accurate and relevant information
Guesthouse Administration – Misty Orchards
  • Full administration of the guesthouse
  • Handle bookings, purchasing, and related administration
General Administration & Compliance
  • Capture and manage harvest reports and delivery notes
  • Confirm spray programmes and extract relevant management reports
  • Compile QC summaries for technical purposes
  • Maintain audit records for GlobalG.A.P, SIZA, and Nature's Choice
  • Take minutes at committee meetings and maintain records
  • General office and farm administration

Minimum requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or 3–5 years’ relevant experience
  • Proven ability to work accurately, systematically, and under pressure
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Above‑average computer skills, including: MS Office, MS Excel (Advanced),  Farm Costing Solutions (FCS) – essential, Sage 300 People – essential / strong advantage
  • Prior experience in a farming or agricultural environment (strong advantage)
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak periods
